Introducing our new net-zero+ goals

Over the last decade, we’ve continually set bigger and bolder environment goals for ourselves—always innovating our approach to sustainability. We’re proud to announce that we’re moving to the next level with three additional, industry-leading goals.

Achieve net-zero emissions by 2025

We’ll focus first on actual reductions in our emissions and will invest in nature-based solutions that will remove carbon from the atmosphere.

Move to zero waste

By 2025, we’ll reuse or recycle all our e-waste and office furniture. We’re committed to eliminating single-use plastics in our locations post-COVID.

Plan for water risk

By 2025, we’ll develop plans to reduce the impact of flooding, drought and water scarcity on our business and our people in high-risk areas.

Taking climate action

Climate change is increasingly affecting living and working conditions around the world, making this the decade to deliver on meaningful climate action.

As a professional services company, the most significant aspects of our environmental footprint are the greenhouse gas emissions related to travel and electricity used in our locations.

Together with our broad ecosystem of clients and partners, we are driving sustainable innovation and adoption of new standards that transcend market divides. Through partnerships, practice, research and innovation, we are working to increase awareness of sustainability solutions to grow understanding of the issues and change our business to address the climate crisis.

Practical steps for businesses

Our sustainability experts wrote The Circular Economy Handbook to demonstrate the business path to sustainability. The book includes practical steps businesses can take toward circularity. Read more.

Our environmental journey

Since beginning our environmental journey in 2007, we have saved more than 1.94 million megawatt hours of electricity, more than 1 million metric tons of CO2 and generated more than US$258 million in energy savings.

Reducing our environmental impact is built into our Code of Business Ethics (COBE) and our core values, specifically Stewardship. These inform our Environmental Responsibility Policy, which our Environment Steering Group established in 2007 and has reviewed annually.
