THE WORK:
  • You’ll perform in the Lead Responsible Engineer (LRE) role on medium to large electric transmission & substation projects ensuring responsibilities are met in accordance with client procedure AM-PE-1051. 
  • You’ll ensure engineering tasks, process, and deliverables are met in accordance with client procedure AM-PE-P128 Substation Project Implementation Process. 
  • You’ll perform as the "Owner Advocate" and primary point of contact for client Engineering and be the "Engineering Authority". 
  • You’ll be the primary point of contact for all technical aspects and the primary interface between the Consulting engineering company (EOC) and client internal engineering. 
  • You’ll coordinate project scope definition, conceptual and detailed design, engineering deliverables, conduct engineering & constructability site walk downs, and coordinate and resolve project design issues with Designers and Engineers. 
  • You’ll review the electrical and physical design packages directly and with team members to ensure all electrical and physical drawings functionally meet the requirements of the project scope and comply with client standards. 
  • You’ll ensure Transmission System Operations and Information Technology receives single line drawings, equipment modeling data, and SCADA database in a timely manner. 
  • You’ll support the PM in development of an overall project schedule and verify necessary engineering tasks are included and ensure the Project Manager is informed of all correspondence or other communications that may impact the performance of the ECOC or the overall success of the project. 
  • You’ll review the Engineering & System Performance Quality Control process regarding applicable calculations, design guidelines, check sheets, and independent reviews. 
  • You’ll support PM to develop RFP documents for external engineering and construction services bid events; evaluate proposals. 
  • You’ll review the Major Equipment List and ensure all major equipment and components are purchased, as required by the specific design. 
  • You'll review and approve/ deny Field Change Requests initiated by personnel responsible for the work planning, construction, installation, or oversight, and review and approve Digging Clearance Drawings developed by personnel performing substation excavations. 
  • You'll participate in project team meetings and site construction status meetings. 
  • You'll gather and consolidate project TAW' drawings, review for legibility and transmit to EOC with LRE concurrence. 
  • You'll support the field construction work and generate Material Requests to order material as required. 
  • Flexible: The work location for this role will include a mix of working remotely, onsite at a client or in an Accenture office or center. 
  • With all our roles, there is some in-person time for collaboration, learning and building relationships with clients, peers, leaders and communities. As an employer, we will be as flexible as possible to support your specific work/life needs. 


HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from an accredited college 
  • Ten (10) or more years' experience of Utility substation & transmission engineering, design, equipment, practices, and IEEE/ANSI standards; preferably 15kvthrough 500kv
  • Valid Driver's license, reliable vehicle, and a driving record that meets Accenture hiring 
  • Strong written and verbal interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with team members and all levels of management
  • Ability to analyze and interpret complex electrical and mechanical systems
  • Able to plan, organize, and time manage work assignments to meet required objectives
  • Proficiency at use of Microsoft Office 


BONUS POINTS IF YOU HAVE:

  • Professional Engineer License (PE) or Certification of Engineer in Training (EIT) 
  • Graduate Degree or Graduate level work in Engineering, Business Administration, or Project Management
