Summary:
As a Custom Software Engineer, a typical day involves designing, building, and configuring applications tailored to fulfill specific business processes and application needs. This role requires a thoughtful approach to understanding the requirements and translating them into functional software solutions. The workday often includes collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure the applications align with organizational goals, while continuously refining and adapting the software to meet evolving demands. Attention to detail and a commitment to quality are essential throughout the development lifecycle to deliver reliable and efficient applications.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Expected to be an SME, collaborate and manage the team to perform.
- Responsible for team decisions.
- Engage with multiple teams and contribute on key decisions.
- Provide solutions to problems for their immediate team and across multiple teams.
- Lead efforts to identify and implement process improvements within the team to enhance productivity and quality.
- Mentor junior team members by providing guidance and support to foster their professional growth.
- Coordinate cross-functional communication to ensure alignment and timely delivery of project milestones.
Professional & Technical Skills:
- Must To Have Skills: Proficiency in Cobol Mainframe.
- Strong knowledge of application design principles and software development lifecycle.
- Experience in debugging and optimizing legacy code to improve performance and maintainability.
- Ability to work with complex business logic and translate it into efficient code.
- Familiarity with mainframe environments and tools used for application development and deployment.
- Capability to analyze and troubleshoot issues in production and development environments.
Additional Information:
- The candidate should have minimum 5 years of experience in Cobol Mainframe.
- This position is based at our Pune office.
- A 15 years full time education is required.
