Summary:
As an Application Support Engineer, a typical day involves acting as a software detective by actively monitoring and investigating issues across various components of essential business systems. This role requires a proactive approach to identifying problems, analyzing system behaviors, and delivering timely resolutions to ensure smooth and uninterrupted operations. The position demands continuous engagement with complex software environments, requiring adaptability and a keen eye for detail to maintain system reliability and performance throughout the day.
Roles & Responsibilities:
-Plan, coordinate, and govern application releases and changes across AMS engagements to ensure minimal business disruption.
-Manage the end-to-end change lifecycle, including change creation, impact assessment, risk analysis, approvals, and closure.
-Own and maintain the release calendar, ensuring alignment across development, testing, infrastructure, and business teams.
-Facilitate CAB meetings, release readiness reviews, and go/no-go decisions for planned and emergency changes.
-Coordinate deployment, rollback, and post-release validation activities to ensure production stability.
-Ensure all releases and changes comply with ITIL/organizational governance standards and audit requirements.
-Track, analyze, and report release and change KPIs, including success rate, failures, and incidents post-deployment.
-Act as a key interface between AMS support teams, project teams, and stakeholders for smooth transitions to support.
-Drive continuous improvement to reduce change failure rate and improve release efficiency in AMS operations.
Professional & Technical Skills:
-Bachelor s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related discipline.
-5–7 years of experience in Release Management and/or Change Management within AMS or support environments.
-Strong understanding of ITIL processes, especially Change, Release, and Configuration Management.
-Experience supporting production systems with frequent releases and high availability requirements.
-Exposure to Agile and DevOps delivery models in an application support context.
-Experience working with global teams and multiple stakeholders across time zones.
-ITIL Foundation or higher certification is highly preferred.
-Strong expertise in release planning, scheduling, and coordination across multiple applications.
-Hands-on experience with change and release management tools (ServiceNow or equivalent).
-Ability to perform risk and impact analysis and manage emergency and standard changes effectively.
-Excellent stakeholder communication and governance skills, including CAB facilitation.
-Strong analytical skills to track KPIs, trends, and post-release issues.
-Good understanding of deployment, rollback, and production validation procedures.
-Strong documentation and reporting skills for audit and compliance readiness
Additional Information:
- The candidate should have minimum 5 years of experience in Configuration & Release Management.
- This position is based at our Bengaluru office.
- A 15 years full time education is required.
