Summary:
As a Custom Software Engineer, a typical day involves collaborating closely with stakeholders to understand and clarify business needs, assisting in the definition of detailed requirements, and contributing to the design of software applications that align with organizational goals. This role requires active engagement in planning sessions, reviewing design proposals, and ensuring that the solutions developed effectively support business processes. The position also involves continuous communication with various teams to ensure alignment and smooth progress throughout the software development lifecycle, fostering an environment of teamwork and innovation.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Expected to be an SME, collaborate and manage the team to perform.
- Responsible for team decisions.
- Engage with multiple teams and contribute on key decisions.
- Provide solutions to problems for their immediate team and across multiple teams.
- Lead efforts to identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
- Mentor junior team members by providing guidance and support to enhance their skills and performance.
- Coordinate cross-functional activities to ensure seamless integration of software components.
- Facilitate knowledge sharing sessions to promote continuous learning within the team.
Professional & Technical Skills:
- Must To Have Skills: Proficiency in IBM Sterling Commerce.
- Good To Have Skills: Experience with A&D Aftermarket.
- Strong understanding of software design principles and application architecture.
- Ability to analyze complex business processes and translate them into technical requirements.
- Experience in troubleshooting and resolving software issues in a timely manner.
- Familiarity with integration techniques and middleware solutions related to IBM Sterling Commerce.
Additional Information:
- The candidate should have minimum 7.5 years of experience in IBM Sterling Commerce.
- This position is based at our Chennai office.
- A 15 years full time education is required.
