Human Resources Practitioner
About the Role
This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, service-focused professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process and validate multiple pay-frequency payroll cycles for Canadian employee groups, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely completion.
- Complete and review audit reports to confirm accuracy, reasonability, and alignment with internal standards.
- Provide responsive customer service for colleague/employee life-cycle inquiries related to payroll
- Develop and apply knowledge of relevant payroll legislation, regulations, policies, and union agreements across Canada
- Identify, analyze, and recommend process improvements and system enhancements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and service quality.
- Support additional activities as required.
Basic Qualifications:
- A University degree or College degree in a related field
- 3-5 years of experience in full-cycle payroll administration
- Bilingual in French and English, strong communication skills, written and verbal in both languages
Preferred Qualifications:
- Worked in a large, multi-national organization with Canadian operations.
- Understanding of payroll legislation and compliance requirements.
- Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification, or equivalent experience.
- Proven ability to deliver exceptional customer service with professionalism, empathy, and accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize competing tasks and meet deadlines in a high-volume environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to review information carefully and recommend practical solutions.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Experience with Workday Payroll, and time and attendance systems such as STAS, Kronos, or Workday.
- Demonstrated discretion and commitment to maintaining confidentiality when handling sensitive colleague information.

employment, for roles that may be hired as set forth below.
