Job Description – Risk Manager (Norway)

Due to continued growth and increasing demand across Norway and the Nordic region, we are seeking Risk Managers to join our expanding and collaborative team. You will play a key role in supporting major capital projects across sectors such as infrastructure, energy, data centres, and complex construction programmes.

We are looking for individuals with strong risk management experience who are comfortable working in dynamic, client-facing environments and contributing to the successful delivery of high-value projects.

Main Purpose of the Role

As a Risk Manager, you will support project teams and senior risk leads across programmes of varying size and complexity. You will be responsible for the accurate capture and management of risk data, facilitating the identification, assessment, and prioritisation of threats, opportunities, and issues.

You will help maintain visibility of key risk trigger points, enabling effective cost and schedule risk management, including budget utilisation and mitigation strategies. Your contribution will be critical in ensuring projects are delivered to time, cost, and quality objectives in line with client expectations.

Key Accountabilities

  • Design, implement, and adapt risk management processes aligned to client requirements and industry best practice
  • Facilitate risk workshops with project teams and subject matter experts
  • Develop and maintain risk registers and supporting risk documentation
  • Challenge and validate risk data to ensure accuracy, robustness, and transparency
  • Drive the implementation of mitigation strategies and track associated actions across projects and programmes
  • Support the development of measurable and effective risk responses aligned with project objectives
  • Perform Quantitative Risk Analysis (QRA) for cost and schedule to assess overall project risk exposure
  • Utilise risk tools such as Safran, @Risk, PRA, or similar platforms
  • Produce clear, timely risk reports using tools such as Power BI, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Collaborate with wider Project Controls teams to ensure alignment across cost, schedule, and risk functions
  • Engage with supply chain partners to assess and incorporate third-party risks into project planning

About You

  • Proven experience in risk management across the full project lifecycle, ideally within infrastructure, energy, or construction sectors
  • Experience in complex capital projects within Norway or the Nordic region is advantageous
  • Ability to adapt risk strategies and processes in response to changing project needs
  • Strong analytical thinking with the ability to assess and communicate complex risk scenarios clearly
  • Familiarity with risk management tools such as Safran, @Risk, PRA, or equivalent
  • Understanding of recognised risk management frameworks (e.g., ISO 31000, APM, Orange Book, IPA)
  • Professional membership (e.g., IRM, APM) is desirable
  • Relevant risk qualifications (e.g., APM Risk Certificate, MoR) are advantageous
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, communication, and influencing skills
  • Experience working within integrated Project Controls environments
  • Fluent in English; Norwegian language skills are advantageous
